THE PATENT

The patent, the clear, the obvious, the apparent, the open. A prototype that represents the elements of clarity in design. The concept was to build a prototype of a house that will be enjoyed by the user without finding any difficulties adjusting to the space. Designing a prototype that will help in saving the earth, but still remain innovative. Designing a house that also represents the architectural and the cultural identity found in the UAE but remains modern. To implement that I started from a simple box, then I started subtracting regular smaller boxes from it until I achieved the patent design.
This Prototype can generate its own electricity by the south facing PV solar panels on the roof, in addition it can store the sun heat and use it for water heating in the winter. This prototype can be easily built, the floor slab is cut into smaller pieces and transported to the site ready to be assembled, as well as the walls and the roof. The pier foundation has a high strength and does not need any excavation, so it doesn’t leave a footprint. The types of materials used to build this prototype support sustainability, for example, in the wall there is a thermal insulation and a PCM insulation (Phase Changing Material) the combination of both makes it hard for the sun heat to go through the walls, this results in a cooler temperature inside and less energy consumption. In summer time, there a solar powered AC which has a reduced CO2 emittance.
